The Ebonites, being a multi-cultural faction, maintain the strictures of many different faiths. For the most part, the Ebonites have more devotion to their Order than their faith and as such religious disputes are rare. How much the more jealous gods appreciate their faithful living side-by-side with non-believers is unknown, though few Ebonites put much thought into it.
There are two unique aspects to the Ebonite faith however; the worship of the Ebon Stone and the Virtues. The Ebon Stone was more of a rumor than anything for much of it’s existence, guarded so heavily that few outside the Order ever saw it. Still, they spoke of it and the immortal evil that was locked away. Some believed the Ebonites had fallen to worshipping the entity that had corrupted the appearance of the stone to its inky black coloration. In truth, the Ebonites worshipped the stone itself, wishing to emulate its capability to imprison and resist one of the greatest evils. Since the Awakening, the Ebon Stone has been shattered and the Khayel that had been trapped inside it released where greater powers managed to finally defeat it. Several pieces of the stone remain however, which have been carefully collected and placed in the location that the Ebon Stone once sat at the center of their temple. The Order still use the black stone for their religious ceremonies and to enact their unique rituals.
The Virtues are past Principles that embodied the Code of the Ebonites so strongly that even after their death they may still appear to their former fellows. Often times their spirits will appear in times of personal toil to offer their guidance and wisdom to Ebonites in need of it. Since the founding of the Order, only 27 Principles have become Virtues, and their strength and purity is something that many, even those outside the Order, attempt to emulate.
